The World Cup has seen The Netherlands perform very well and plenty of the players have attracted plenty of interest, but none as much as PSV’s Memphis Depay. This summer has already seen him being linked with Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham, but today a new club have joined the race. According to Gazzetta dello Sport Inter are ready to battle it out for the youngster. Depay’s coach Phillip Cocu has recently spoke to Omroep Brabant and said that he believes Depay should stay with PSV, “He has just finished a season as a regular player in the Eredivisie. Going now would be, in my eyes, too fast”.
Another Dutch star that’s been linked with a move away from the Eredivisie is Feyenoord’s Daryl Janmaat. The right back has attracted interest from Napoli and Manchester United, however today tuttomercatoweb have reported that Newcastle United have reached an agreement in principle for Janmaat.
QPR are interested in Ajax’s Kolbeinn Sigthórsson and according to reports the newly promoted side have had a £5 million bid rejected. Ajax want more for the Icelandic striker, but with the striker entering into the last year of his contract it may be tough to get much more than the bid they’ve already received. Only time will tell who will cave first between Ajax and QPR, Harry Redknapp is a big admirer of the striker and this could work in Ajax’s favour.
Good news for Vitesse Arnhem fans as it’s been confirmed that Chelsea midfielder Bertrand Traore will be spending the season on loan at the club. The youngster spent the second half of last season on loan at Vitesse making thirteen appearances and scoring three.
PSV have said goodbye to Mathias ‘Zanka’ Jørgensen after he set off for a medical ahead of his move back to FC Copenhagen, the 24-year-old has struggled to get much first team action this season, making just nine appearances.
Lastly Matthieu Delpierre has left FC Utrecht and joined A-League side Melbourne Victory. The 33-year-old French defender has signed a one-year deal with the club. His one year spell at Utrecht saw him make fourteen appearances.
